  • Whatever hangs over the stone below falls off, and the tower gets narrower.
  • Land it dead on and the bell rings: you lose nothing.

Why Málaga calls its cathedral La Manquita

Work on Málaga Cathedral began in 1528 and stopped in 1782, before the south tower was finished. The north tower rises 84 metres; its twin never got past the stump you build on in the game. That is why locals call the cathedral La Manquita, "the one-armed lady".

Where the money went is part of the legend. The most repeated version says it helped the American colonies in their War of Independence; other accounts point elsewhere. Either way, the tower has been waiting for more than two centuries.

How to play

Tap the screen (or press space) to drop each stone. Whatever overhangs the stone below breaks off, so the tower gets narrower. Land it dead on and the bell rings: you lose nothing, and three perfect drops in a row win back a little width.

Each stone adds 3 metres. You pass the north tower at 84 m and Gibralfaro hill at about 130 m, and then keep climbing.

The daily ranking

Everyone plays the same tower each day, so the daily ranking is fair. Pick a nickname to appear on it; you need no account and no email. Every game is replayed on our server from your taps, so only real heights count.
